![]() I think 3 handles most geysers, I didn't see too many over 6kg/s of steam. The number of turbines you need corresponds to the kg/s the geyser outputs when it's active (not average overall) so that it won't get over-pressurized. I spawned a bunch of vents and came out to this average for most of them as well, but this is including the dormant period. I don't know what you think.Īccording to the wiki, the average steam production of a cool steam vent is 1,5 kg/s I would recommend making a guide on that, if you have the time and will of course, given how cooling is a crucial part of achieving sustainability and reaching the late game, but it would be a bit redundant with the present guide and the one on piping and loops. On a personal regard, I will stick with the liquid pump + heat exchanger setup, since it cools better, can be used for cooling other stuff besides the vent and takes less space. If it is, add a note mentioning it, maybe.)Īnother little note, steel is much easier to get than plastic in my opinion, at least on Terra, where eggs, fossils, coal and iron are plentiful. (And I don't recall seeing it in your piping guide. You describe but don't really explain it, so I don't get why it is necessary on top of the other bridge. You could perhaps emphasize the cooling loop better, maybe by framing the bottom row and calling it "cooling loop", I don't know.Īlso, I don't quite get the necessity of the double bridge contraption. It is hard to make sense of these two water drops next to each other with one outputting hot water and the other cold water seemingly before the aquatuner. Since I have your attention (hehe), I find the first diagram quite confusing, especially before reading the guide. According to the wiki, the average steam production of a cool steam vent is 1,5 kg/s, so one would probably want to reduce the number of turbines, rather than increasing it, if it doesn't mess up with heat deletion and turbines overheating. I think my map just kind of sucks for layout.Nice of you to be that reactive (also, personal hat off for all the work you pull off and the clarity and concision of your guides), but I kinda thought about the contrary to your addendum. No volcanoes even at the bottom of the map that I pretty much have explored in every corner as far as the map can go really. The only benefit I have is that I have the second nat gas geyser not too far from a hot steam vent, CO2 vent and a leaky oil fissure, meaning I can make a giant power generating box between the 4.įunnily enough I don't have a single volcano, nor either of the cold geysers (cool slush geyser CO2 geyser). I mean cool, plenty oxygen, but eventually I will have much more clay I know what to do with. Same with the lone one.Īlso too many Infectious Polluted Oxygen vents in one place. I have 3 AETNs, two of which are right next to one another, but they are in a spot that is nowhere near any of the geysers. My map is kind of bad with geysers I have 3 oil reservoirs near the bottom of the map, as per regular map layout (not playing Rime this time), I have a water geyser and a salt water geyser individually, then I have one nat gas geyser that I am currently looking to tame on its own on the left and in the middle of the map, as well as at least one chlorine geyser on its own not too far from the printing pod. ![]() I'm just trying to think of what the best use could be of the two ccool steam vents could be, given my geyser map layout.
